TEMRES® Technology renders gloves breathable and waterproof, a combination of opposing but important features offered in a single glove. Revolutionary at the time of its launch, its uniqueness and many benefits have since become recognised in the market. Exploiting the significant size difference between the lower molecular energy of liquid water and the higher energy of water vapour, two main membranes are created in the glove that enable the TEMRES® effect: one for breathability, and one for water resistance.

Risk of Injuries: Handling food processing tools and machines could put workers at risk if without proper protective wear. Our Solutions: Accelerate Work Efficiency: Our protective wear with superior grip and unmatched comfort reduces mistakes and shortens the time consumed when handling food products and processing machines. Safeguard against Biohazards: Our protective wears are made of professionally selected quality materials that help protect food and workers against contamination and injury during handling.

Size and tensile strength requirements for single use medical gloves. No less than 240mm in median length and 95mm (±10mm) median width to provide adequate protection along full length of the hand (exception for long cuff gloves). Strength is measured by elongation until breaking point, indicated as Force At Break (FAB) in newtons (N). FAB is measured on standard sample and on a rapid aged sample that is kept at 70°C for 7 days to simulate glove deterioration during prolonged shelf life. FAB requirements differ per glove material and if the glove is for examination or surgical purpose.

Eco Best: Same glove, better for the planet An industry first, SHOWA’s Eco Best Technology® (EBT) offers the same glove with no compromise in its quality, performance, and protection – but better for the planet. EBT accelerates the biodegradation of nitrile to organic compounds in biologically active landfills, an ability validated by independent certified laboratories using international test methods ASTM D5511 and D5526. Thanks to its special composition, SHOWA EBT gloves decompose within 1 to 5 years in active landfills, where regular nitrile gloves require over 100 years, thus reducing the impact gloves have on the environment.

Micro-organisms are defined by the standard as bacteria, fungi or viruses. To claim resistance to bacteria and fungi the glove must pass the penetration resistance test according to standard EN 374-2: 2014. If the glove passes ISO 16604: 2004 (method B) test it can claim resistance to viruses as well, and the term “VIRUS” will be added below the biohazard pictogram. AQL (accepted quality level) is a measure of quality assurance based on random sampling procedure according to ISO 2859-1 used by manufacturers for measuring the likelihood of pinhole defects in a batch of gloves. An AQL of 1,5 accepts the statistical probability that there are less than 1.5% of the gloves with defects in the batch. Find extra information at https://excia.asia/.
